Lamborghini Aventador S Patent Filed For Possible 730-HP Supercar

On November 18, Lamborghini filed a European Union Intellectual Property trademark application to secure the name "Aventador S". This, together with a leaked photo of the rumored model's logo, confirmed that the automaker is indeed working on a new supercar which may contain a 730-HP engine.

Not much information is available about the new Lamborghini project; there hasn't been an official  press release from Lamborghini yet. However, the automaker is expected to reveal details about the 2018 Aventador S on the Geneva International Motor Show, which will happen in March 2017.

An official release date from Lamborghini is also yet to be announced. But until then, motorists can only wait to see if the supercar will truly don the signature "S" suffix or not.

Motor Authority has posted spy images, revealing that the new Lamborghini Aventador will have changes to its appearance. Actual updates to Aventador's revamp are barely visible. However, obvious changes seen in the exhaust housing, diffuser, and rear bumper are expected to improve the supercar's cooling system.

The Aventador S will also have a revamped handling system, thanks to its magnetic adaptive damper upgrade. Moreover, improvements in the cabin include a touch-screen, internet connectivity, and Apple CarPlay functionality.

Many are hoping that significant improvements will be made under the hood as well; CarBuzz is optimistic that the engine will finally give rise to a 730-HP Lamborghini Aventador.

The actual engine that will be used for the Aventador S is still unknown, but it is possible for it to have the same engine as previous Aventador models with 690-HP or lower. With rumors swirling around other tweaks that might have been done or will be done to it, the car is now expected to amass more power and speed.

Until the Geneva International Motor Show's much-awaited reveal, rumors of Aventador S' upgraded exterior, interior, and specs can only keep swirling.

Will it be substantially improved compared to the Aventador SV? It remains to be seen by Lamborghini fans and other car enthusiasts.
