2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee: Features and Options

Jeep has revealed what buyers can expect in the 2013 Grand Cherokee.

There are several enhancements to the current generation, which Jeep boasts is the most awarded SUV in the world.

The Overland Summit, which fits second from the top in the Grand Cherokee range, now has standard front park assist, power folding outside mirrors, and headlight washers. Upholstery options now include saddle leather, or black or saddle Nappa leather with saddle accent stitching. There is also a Jeep Rugged Brown that is an exclusive option for the Overland Summit.

A new Bright White is now a color option for all Grand Cherokees. Other color choices are Deep Cherry Red Pearl Coat, Bright Silver Metallic Clear Coat, Brilliant Black Crystal Clear Coat, Mineral Gray Metallic Clear Coat, True Blue Pearl Coat, Maximum Steel Clear Coat, Winter Chill Pearl Coat, and Black Forest Green Pearl Coat.

A new model for 2013 is the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, first seen as a concept at the 2012 Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah. The Trailhawk is available with a V-6 or V-8 engine and 18-inch Goodyear Silent Armor tires with Kevlar reinforcement, rock rail body protection, rear electronic limited-slip differential (ELSD, V-8 only), the Quadra-Drive II 4X4 system (V-8 only), Quadra-Lift air suspension, and Jeep's Selec-Terrain traction control system.


The Trailhawk will be visible for details such black-surround headlamps, a gray grille surround, and a black and red hood decal, as well as black leather and performance suede seats with red accent stitching and Mopar slush floor mats. It is available in Bright White, Brilliant Black, Mineral Gray, Maximum Steel, and Deep Cherry Red.

Otherwise, the Grand Cherokee continues unchanged. It maintains the 3.6-liter V6 standard engine, and continues to have an optional 5.7-liter V8. It also continues with three 4X4 systems: Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II, and Quadra-Drive II.

Jeep has not released pricing details for the 2013 Grand Cherokee.
