The legendary Jaguar XKSS 1957 Sports Car that was lost for 60 years is back. Jaguar followers never imagined that the "lost" car would ever be seen again. There were only 16 XKSS convertibles out of 25 completed and 9 were lost before being shipped in North America at Jaguar's Browns Lane Factory at Coventry. The 9 lost cars are here after a long time.

The nine "leaping cats" are based on the original templates of the XKSS sports cars that would be delivered to overly-wealthy clients next year. Each convertible would cost £1 million which is a way cheaper comparing to the value of the original Jaguar XKSS 1957 which amounts to £10 million. The new XKSS is created to be a regular Le Mans-winning D-type race car built  from 1954-1956,

This beast accelerates from rest to 60mph in just 5.5 seconds and 100 mph in 13.5 seconds.This lightweight aluminum-bodied convertible is powered by a 3.14-liter XK straight six engine. Engineers could have upgraded some parts and the car's technology,  but they decided to make the driver feel the authenticity of the 1957 Sports Car, according to Mailonline.

The Jaguar XKSS 1957 was revealed in Los Angeles. The Jaguar Land Rover team built these legends basing it on a combination of  drawings and from the archives. Engineers scanned several original XKSS to build the image of the car digitally, from chassis, body, and all other parts required. The manufacturing of the car would be done using hand-wheeling which is a traditional way of metal-forming, reported by The Telegraph.

This attention-seeker car that was made from 10,000 man hours of work including 2,000 rivets are not allowed on the roads of United Kingdom. Since this streamlined convertible is made to the specifications of 1957 model, it would not pass the present standards for emission. The owner of the new convertible would have to spend on private circuit tracks to feel the speed of these "leaping cats."
