Despite lack of an official announcement, there have been plenty of hearsays indicating that the highly anticipated gadget will hit the stores in 2017. With Black Friday approaching, bevies of deals are now being offered for quite a few devices. Meanwhile, more and more reports have advised consumers to ignore the deals for Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 citing the imminent launch of its successor, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5.
Multiple reports suggest that the Redmond based tech firm is gearing up to launch a hybrid device geared with Intel's much awaited Kaby Lake processors. In fact, Microsoft Surface Pro 5 release date was reportedly pushed back from late 2016 to early 2017 in order to coincide with the launch of Intel's latest processor.
If this comes to fruition and the Surface Pro 5 comes equipped with the latest Kaby Lake chips, this will propel the gadget far beyond than rest of its competitors, especially the Apple iPad Pro 2, which rumors claim is likely to arrive early 2017 as well. Besides, the Windows 10 Redstone 2 operating system is also slated to arrive in early 2017.
Under the hood, the Surface Pro 5 is rumored to come with 16GB of RAM, coupled with Intel's Kaby Lake processor. The device is likely to boast the Nvidia Pascal GPU card as well, and pack a robust battery equipped with USB-C support, according to iDigitalTimes.
In terms of storage capacity, the Surface Pro 5 will boast a mammoth 1TB of storage. If these speculations proved to be true, the device will outshine Apple's 12.9-inch iPad Pro that currently tops at a considerable 256GB of storage and 4GB of RAM, according to Inquisitr.
It's worth noting that there is possibility that the iPad Pro 2 would continue running on iOS, which is a mobile operating system. This could be one of the biggest drawbacks of the device and is likely to give the Pro 5 an upper hand as compared to its competitor.
