The 2017 Range Rover Sport and former rider Ben Collins is popularly known as Top Gear's "The Stig" conquers the alps inferno ski course to prove just how powerful a Rover can be. This is a promotional video for Land Rover with which the brand intends to demonstrate that their cars do not know the limits. The advertising video's main objective is to bring up the main qualities of the Land Rover. The 2017 Range Rover Sport is the most powerful in the range of the Rovers having a strong supercharged V8 that can produce 510 horsepower and 680 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and its top speed is 260 km/h, according to Motoring AU.

The challenge was to make the 'Descent into Inferno' - where the ski chase depicted in the James Bond film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" (1969) was filmed - where annually, 1800 competitors attempt to do the same but now the Range Rover Sport is the first production vehicle to complete the downhill run,

The Stig drove the 2,300 kilos Rover and reached a speed exceeding 150 km/h on a slope of up to 75 percent while riding over rocks, snow, mud and ice between narrow canyons and along cliffs. While at the base it would have to do the same with the fog and the damp grass, which would not prevent him reach 155 km/h in some sections, according to Auto Blog.

Bristol pilot spent 21 minutes and 36 seconds to travel a distance of 15 kilometers from the summit of Mount Schilthorn and a total of 2,970 meters high to its base. For the occasion, Range Rover Sport did not have any specification or improvement, apart from some heavy duty tires and a roll cage installed for safety.
