The 2017 Mercedes-AMG E63 had just been unveiled. It is the most serious and most powerful take on the impressive new Mercedes-Benz E-class line and can rise above the 600hp performance. It is set to compete with the likes of the Ford Focus RS where both comes with a drift mode, Audi RS7 and the upcoming BMW M5.
Aesthetically the E63 a whole lot, thanks to the "AMG diet," which includes bumpers redesigned air intakes and more prominent moldings, specific tires, a small spoiler on the tailgate and bulkier fins needed to accommodate wide roads increased both front and back, according to Autoblog.
Inside they stand out above all the seat os the E-class, which without being the semi-bucket riding models like the A45 or C63, other sports are more than those series. Interior trim is trimmed in carbon fiber, while digital instrumentation has specific graphs and extended navigation.
Most importantly, it will be standard with the AWD system AMG Performance 4Matic+, which improves the handling of such cavalry together, and yes, the E63 S will a system Drift Mode, which will transmit 100 percent of power to the rear wheels via an electronic differential, thus making the complete RWD E63 capable of destroying sets of tires as a lollipop eaten.
The V8 twin-turbo four-liter fitted with a pair of twin-scroll turbocharger that we know from models like the Mercedes-AMG GT or the sportiest versions of the Mercedes C-Class now comes with the E 63 proposing two power levels: the standard version with 563 horses and 750 Nm of torque and the other E 63 S, with 603 horses and 850 Nm of torque
The sprint from zero to 60 mph takes a mere 3.4 seconds and top speed is limited to 155 mph for the standard version. The S reaches 60 mph in a factory-estimated 3.3 seconds, with its top speed capped at 186 mph.
But the engine also is more efficient, thanks to an all-new cylinder-deactivation system that shuts off cylinders two, three, five and eight at low to medium loads between 1000 and 3250 rpm. Turning a V-8 into a V-4 produces less noise and vibration than turning off one cylinder bank, according to CarandDriver.
Mercedes will debut both the E63 and E63S at this month's Los Angeles Auto Show, with US sales to begin next summer. Meanwhile, take a look at the beast in the video below.
