The development and testing of the 2018 Bentley Flying Spur have already begun and is proven by these spy photos by CarParazzis from Europe. The much-awaited luxury sedan of Bentley was spied under an elegant body of the new generation of Porsche Panamera allowing it to have the perfect camouflage yet still not enough to slip through the eyes of spy photographers.
Don't let your eyes fool you. These spy photos from Caradvice is truly the 2018 Bentley Flying Spur just dressed up as the Panamera. This only makes sense as the basis of the new Flying Spur is nothing less than the new modular platform MBL-F which was released in the said new generation of Panamera, a platform that will continue to expand for the rest of high luxury models belonging to the Volkswagen Group.
To be sure, Carscoops made a quick check on the UK plates of the prototype with the DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency). Records then reveal that it is indeed a Bentley with 4.0 - liter gasoline engine and it is without a doubt that it is using the same engine of the new 4.0 liter V8 Biturbo Porsche delivering 550 hp in the Panamera, but rumors are saying that the Flying Spur will have a different configuration and will finally have a 4.8 - liter V8 allowing it to reach an impressive 600hp.
The 2018 Bentley Flying Spur is still at an early stage of development, however , has always been something of a version of the Bentley Continental GT with a pair of doors added. Looking closely at the test vehicle, one will realize that it has slightly flared fenders and wheel arches rivets marked by externalizing a mismatch between proportions making it look like a Bentley.
This presents us with an advantage since the prototypes of the new Continental GT Coupe and Cabrio that is currently in the advanced stages have revealed to us that its design will take significant influences in the prototype EXP 10 Speed 6. This means that fans will have a pretty good idea about the design of the new Flying Spur.
It is still early to talk about the release date but base on rumors and on the spy shot itself, the Flying Spur may debut early next year and it may take about 2019 before it finally arrives in dealerships.
