The Range Rover release is set this fall. It is perhaps the most suited car for this season. Nissan discontinued its rival, the Murano. A least likely rival will be the BMW 4 Series and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet. The Maserati GranCabrio is a contender as well.
It starts from $50,000 up to $58,000. The price is a bit hefty compared to the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet.
The engine has a Ingenium turbo, 2.0 L diesel engine capacity. It has a power output estimated at around 177bhp. This comes at a 317 LB ft with 49.6 mpg, according to Top Gear.
The makers highlighted that the top is not only rain an d dirt resistant. The soft-top boasts of a silent operation. It only takes 18 seconds to fold-down. This will remain unchanged even if running at 30 mph.
It is pleasant to drive at 60 mph. This allows for just a few breeze to ruffle the rider's hair. The Rover's heating system doesn't disappoint. It is just the right heat without allowing it to get too hot.
The roof is more quiet compared to the top-down sports coupe. The rear-view is somewhat obstructed. However, the reversing camera should come in handy.
The passenger seats are more spacious. In the MB C-Class Cabrio the back hardly seats adults comfortably.
This is the Range Rover's edge over MB C-Class Cabrio. The soft-top could go up and down comfortably without any passenger obstruction.
The touch-screen control system has been updated. It now has a new "In-control Touch-Pro Infotainment" interface, which is just one of the few modern updates the Evoque had.
It is good thing that the infotainment system has been re-done. The door is now frame-less. It also has an integreated brake-light system.
It can accelerate from zero to 62 mph in only 9.7 seconds. The brake pedal feels awkward.
The nine-speed gear transmission is a flop. There are smoother rides even from a six-speed automatic of a similar size.
The chassis feels stiff. It is not a smooth ride once the road is not even. This seems to be a mismatch in the concept development stage, it being a convertible.
It is disappointingly slow at its range. This is not an economic-friendly car needless to say. This one is mainly for Evoque convertible enthusiasts. It will be available by winter of next year.
