2018 Lynk Compact SUV Launches In U.S. Automobile Market

Geely Automobile has changed its brand name to Lynk & Co. and with it, an introduction to the brand new 2018 Lynk Compact SUV, which will arrive in U.S. and European automobile market two years from now. In fact, the said model is scheduled to be showcased in China by next year.

As Geely Automobile, now known as Lynk & Co., announced they are aiming to enter the middle of the automobile market to keep vehicle prices to a steady pace, the company revealed that their first order of business would be the 2018 Lynk Compact SUV.

The Specs

The model will be named 01 and will also be a hybrid vehicle, according to Auto News. On top of which, it would be powered by a 1.5-L three-cylinder gasoline engine as well as an electric version. In fact, the said version was to be the brand's flagship model to go against the Nissan Qashqai model.

The Lynk model will likewise be offered with a manual transmission option or a seven-speed dual clutch automatic feature.

Tech Features

The 2018 Lynk Compact SUV will have a large central touch screen that has telematics systems powered by the Internet and has its own car cloud network as well. On top of which, it will also feature a share button that will enable the driver to allow access for other users via a shareable digital key. Also, the owners can install the Lynk app which will enable them to maneuver the car controls from their smartphone or from a distance of the vehicle.

What To Expect In The Future?

The company was said to create a Compact Modular Architecture platform which will be a collaboration with Volvo in Sweden. The said project was aimed at utilizing the platform to recreate the 40 compact range which was first showcased last May through the 40.1 and 40.2. concept cars.

In other news, the vehicle will be a three-box-four-door sedan, a five-door hatchback, and a crossover under works for the company as well, according to Motor Trend.

The 2018 Lynk Compact SUV will be previewed in China by mid-2017 and will be up for sale by 2018.
