F1 News: Lance Stroll Father Confirms F1 For Son Next Year [PHOTO & VIDEO]

In the latest F1 News, Canadian billionaire Lawrence Stroll, who is the owner of Circuit-Mont Tremblant, has confirmed that his son is to succeed Felipe Massa by next year. The Brazilian F1 driver will be retiring soon.

Stroll's son Lance was the first Canadian to every win a Formula 3 European Champion. Now just fresh from his F3 championship, the younger Stroll has been confirmed to be driving for the Martini-Liveried team. This is just among the string of recent 'rigodon' among F1 racers.

Just recently, Nico Hulkenberg surprised everyone. He was said to be driving for the Renault team come next season. He still got a year left on his contract with Force India.

Onto more F1 News, speculations rose as to whether Force India will hold Hulkenberg due to an un-finished contract. The team was obviously taken by surprised. However, Force India co-owner, Vijay Mallya has confirmed that they will be releasing Hulkenberg from his contract.

However, Martini-Liveried is yet to make an official announcement about Massa's successor. Though two drivers have had a confirmed F1 future, one driver remains in limbo.

Esteban Gutierrez is still awaiting contract renewal from Haas for 2017. He has expressed his frustration about the delay. He remains positive in hopeful that there will be an extension.

There are other important F1 updates. It has been said that McLaren-Honda has been the 'most improved' team. It does not mean however that their efforts are enough.

The team hasn't had a victory since November 2012. It has been almost a half-decade since they've made headlines as winners. The team's chairman has admitted that their achievements are nothing impressive.

There are other teams who are not in denial of their lack-luster performance. Yusuke Hasegawa, from Honda, had stated that they need to, "push more much harder." As a result, they won't qualify for Pirelli's testing next year.

There were only three teams who have been allowed to test for Pirelli's next year. Another testament of most of the team's underperformance.

Mercedes, Ferrari, and Red Bull were fortunate to qualify for the test. It will certainly give them a huge advantage over their competitors.

Lance Stroll is no new-comer to the race field. His debut is certainly one to look forward to coming next year. Watch these videos to know this lad more. That's all for the latest F1 News.
