Ford Motor Company has been having trouble with surging inventories and slumping demand, no thanks to the Chevrolet Camaro franchise that has beaten it in the market. To remedy the internal problems, the brand is facing now, the production of Ford F-150 trucks along with other vehicles has been put on hold.
It has been decided by Ford Motor Company that they will cut back on the production of the Ford F-150 pick-up trucks. Along with the model, the Ford Escape, Ford Fiesta, and Ford Fusion vehicles will also be temporarily shut down as well.
Tthe two plants in Mexico where the Ford Fusion, the Lincoln MKZ, and the Ford Fiesta are produced, will stop production of new vehicles as well including that of the Kansas City facility of the company, according to Motor Trend.
It has been reported that the production adjustments are the primary reason why the company has opted to stop production. In fact, during the second half of 2016, the overall decline in the U.S. auto sales affected the sales of Ford F-150 and other models in the market.
In other news, the Caycomo plant was scheduled to a stop for the following week. The demand for the vehicle has also declined along with the utility vehicles similar to such, according to Kansas City.
For next year, Ford Motor Company has forecasted a change in production during the second half of 2017. In fact, Kelli Felker, the manufacturing and labor communications manager of the company, has decided to match production with demand for the vehicles to defer from surplus and wastage of materials.
Furthermore, the company is also expected to earn pretax profits valued at $10.2 billion this year. However, the said production of the Ford F-150 models will continue to be on hold until the end of September 2017.
