Dodge Challenger Hellcat ADR First Spy Photos Emerge, Widened Body Impresses

Last week, Dodge revealed that they'll be expanding their popular challenger lineup with two new models. Now, these are the first spy photos of the new Dodge Challenger hellcat variant, one positioned above the SRT Hellcat, showing a widened body. It is said that this new Challenger will be called the Dodge Challenger ADR and will be preceded by four - wheel drive variant Challenger GT AWD and will be presented before year ends or early next year.

The prototypes have been hunted in the United States while the weather is poor so it's still quite low in quality. It also does not have the final design of body, but show a more than obvious oversized tires , which largely protrude from the body and allow us to get an idea of what will be the widening to enjoy this new version of the Dodge Challenger Hellcat

The name Challenger ADR comes from the acronym American Drag Racer and will be characterized by those wide tires that if we follow the latest rumors should be about 315 section, much wider than the minuscule 275/40-size set fitted to the SRT Hellcat.

We can get an idea of what we can expect from this new version glancing at Challenger GT AWD concept presented by the brand at SEMA 2015. Interestingly, the name of that prototype is the one that will use the new AWD version of the Challenger, equipped with a V6 drive system that is not available or for the Hellcat or for the spread Challenger ADR, which continue to be mechanical engine platform V8 6.2 - liter supercharged , rear - drive.

In terms of mechanics, it is expected to equip the engine 6.2 - liter V8 and 717 hp (707 hp) unchanged, although there is the possibility that this version comes with a slight power upgrade.

As believed, the new Challenger GT AWD arrive before the end of the year, while the Challenger ADR may not be unveiled until 2017 and will reach manufacturers in 2018.
