The Hillary Clinton vs. Donald Trump fight is on. Let's find out how the second presidential debate went on.
The past week has been eventful for both the camps. The controversial audio was a big update for both. While Trump's sexist comments in the recording needed immediate repairing at his end, the Clinton camp was quick to make use of the 2005 recording.
The controversial tape was damaging for Trump as a number of Republic biggies withdrew their support for him. The second presidential debate was a chance for Trump to get his hold back.
It was held at Washington University in St. Louis. CNN's Anderson Cooper and ABC News' Martha Raddatz co-moderated it. The Hillary Clinton vs. Donald Trump face-off went on for 90 minutes. Let's reflect upon some key moments.
It was an unconventional way to start the debate. Clinton and Trump did not shake hands before starting the debate. It was just a nod from Clinton's side. There was clear tension from the very beginning.
The debate had one former US Secretary of State on one side. And, on the other was a man who said he knew nothing about Russia. The man who is fighting to be the next US president confesses that he knows nothing about Vladimir Putin, one of the most powerful political leaders in the world.
Trump admitted that he was "very embarrassed" due to the recording. He made vulgar sexist comments in it. He said in 2005 that women would allow famous men to do anything with them. While Trump said he was not proud of it, his apparent apology came with a "but."
"But this is locker room talk," ABC News quoted him as saying.
Clinton said the recording proved Trump's character. She talked about Trump insulting and berating women according to appearance. She referred to his demeaning comments about a former Miss Universe.
"So, yes, this is who Donald Trump is," she said.
Clinton won the second presidential debate. The Hillary Clinton vs. Donald Trump was rather one-sided. Many believe she should start preparing her presidential victory speech as well.
