James Bond Star Pierce Brosnan Endorses Indian Brand, Internet Goes Nuts

James Bond seems to be a bit de-railed from his career.

Just yesterday, on Oct 7, 2016, the regional and English language dailies in India showed a full page advertisement of Pierce Brosnan, with his mighty beard and moustache, holding a packet of 'Pan Masala' - a flavoured mixture of betel nuts often chewed alongside tobacco by millions of South Asians.

In a TV advertisement that followed, the former James Bond actor was seen using this pan masala as his weapon, saying that class never goes out of style.

The New-Delhi based DJ group roped in Brosnan to endorse this 50-year old pan masala brand, which supposedly sells the most expensive version of the pan masala. The brand's name is Pan Bahar. Among many flavours, it uses cardamon and sandalwood oil.

It was not long after that the internet went after this - munching on each and every bite of the news.

The famous Indian cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle tweeted:

Beside this tweet, there were many other on the social media platforms.

This is not the first time that Brosnan has endorsed an Indian brand, back in the 2000s, he was seen endorsing the menswear brand Reid & Taylor. Along with him, Hugh Jackman was seen endorsing an Indian phone brand called Micromax.

Here is the advertisement.
