That the Aventador is undergoing a mid-life facelift is all too well-known. As such, it was only a matter of time when spy shots of the same on the tracks would emerge. And those are already here, with images of a heavily camouflaged Aventador prototype doing the rounds of the Nurburgring circuit having leaked online.

Also, with the usual elaborate artwork in place to deter enthusiasts from having a clear view of what the revamped Aventador will be like, there are a few style cues that are hard to miss. Those include the enlarged front air intake slots as well as additional gaps along the upper rear fender, Auto Guide reported.

The entire bumper at the front and back seem to have been redesigned while a new larger rear diffuser is also evident to help create more downforce. All of these no doubt signal greater aggression from the new Aventador, which also means a surge in power output as well.

That also means similar tweaks to the 6.5-liter V12 engine that already churns out an impressive 690hp. A few more horses to the tune of about 20-30 more, as Carscoops speculated, could well be added to allow for even more brisk acceleration.

Lamborghini had already made it known they would remain committed to V12 power plants. This belies the current trend where even supercar manufactures like Porsche are exploring at least hybrid power sources if not pure electric to keep attuned to the more stringent emission norms of future.

Meanwhile, there are likely some improvements to the interior as well. That includes the likely inclusion of an 11-inch display similar to the one on the limited edition Centenario. Tesla had been the first to go overboard with an oversized infotainment display and it is good to see others, including supercars toeing the same line.

Similarly, there will also be new graphics to adorn the driver's binnacle display along with general sprucing up of the interiors as a whole.
