Google Pixel Phone Release Date Today; Apple iPhone 7 Undaunted [VIDEO]

Everyone sees the Google Pixel as a direct threat or if not pose as a stiff challenger to Apple's iPhone. Google came up with Pixel as a direct rival for the iPhone.

It boasts of a 12 MP camera. It is also resistant to water in up to a meter submersion which not to last longer than 30 minutes. This feature is so far the only thing that gives the iPhone 7 an edge over its competitors.

These are just two of the key features or latest update on the iPhone. You can read more about the iPhone 7's specifications on GSM Arena.

The battery has been improved. Apple claims 7hrs worth of power can be obtained with just fifteen minutes of charging.

Google's new Pixel phone on the other hand is indeed taking after the iPhone. It comes with its big brother the Pixel XL. One key advantage the Pixel may have is its new Assistant software, with a built-in unlimited cloud storage. It is already Daydream VR ready.

The 'Assistant', similar to 'Siri' - is a voice-activated AI platform. It uses a vast database from Google which matches voice inquiries or instruction with an answer. It can translate foreign language phrases.

It is like a hand-held activated 'Google' - you can even ask it for the best stores, bars or even restaurants in town. One can also ask seemingly meaningless questions, on life and basically everything under the sun.

One of the Google Pixel's key advantage over the iPhone and the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is its big OLED screen. Their prices are almost equal to each other. Samsung Galaxy note 7 comes at $1030. Whereas, the iPhone 7 price is estimated at around t $ 970 similar with Google Pixel's price. The iPhone 7 Plus and the Google Pixel Xl both comes at around $1100. However, Google offers an option to upgrade to a 256 GB capacity, at just around $1,195.
