If a new facelifted Mustang in the making isn't exciting enough, there now are reports of the same getting a 10-speed automatic gearbox as well, AutoCar reported.

While that sure makes for a juicy proposition, what is not known though is whether the new 10-speed auto box option will be standard across the range or if it will be clubbed with only the naturally aspirated V8 engine.

The facelifted Mustang will also be available with the 2.3-litre Ecoboost engine option as well which no doubt will serve as the entry-level version.

Any which way it is, the more efficient 10-speed automatic gearbox option will be a nice upgrade over the six-speed manual and automatic option that the current Mustang comes with.

As Autocar speculated, a likely scenario will be that the lower specced Mustang powered by the Ecoboost engine will feature the six-speed manual/automatic gearbox while the automatic gearbox will be exclusive to the V8.

Interestingly, the new gearbox will also be seen rendering service in the Chevrolet Camaro as well.

As for the refurbished Mustang, while early test prototypes spotted so far have shown heavy camouflage, what is still evident is that there will some wide-ranging exterior tweaks introduced, likely to the front and rear lights, bumper and grill designs and so on.

Challenger ADR:

In another development, the wide-bodied Dodge Challenger has been caught undergoing tests in Michigan. The new Challenger would be slotted above the SRT Hellcat and is expected to debut in 2017, likely as a 2018 car.

Among the changes to be seen with the new Challenger is its noticeably wider tires that give a more macho look to the car. Details obviously aren't free flowing at the moment though word on the street is that there will be at least two wide-bodied Challenger versions in the offing, one powered by the 3.6-liter V-6 for the entry level version while the supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 will power the top-of-the-line rear-wheel-drive Challenger.

Then there is going to be the Challenger ADR as well, as Motor Authority pointed out. It sure will be a performance beast and will have the power of more than 707 horses to live up to its tagline. Of course, the ADR has to be special considering that it is likely to be the final model in the current Challenger range before the completely new Challenger base on the Alfa Romeo Giulia's platform comes on to the scene. Till then, the ADR will be enough to set the tracks on fire, that's for sure.
