Upholding its name as one of the top of the line car manufacturers, Porsche has unveiled its new GT3 race car. With this, Porsche has become the first racing car the company has introduced since the launch of the New Turbocharged Carrera.

Although auto critics see and say that the 2017 GT3 Cup is refreshingly old-school particularly in style, the 2017 Porsche 911 GT3 is still a unit ready to take any driver is a one good shot of a ride.

Adopting some of the styling cues of the new 911 road car, the Cup is on the road to have a taste of the car. One example being the sculpted rear lights. On the other side, the GT3 Cup shows off the next 911 GT3. The 991.2 GT3 is forthcoming and there is no surprise if it comes with a similar front bumper and nose as similar to the GT3 Cup.

Talking about the power, 2017 Porsche 911 GT3 uses the naturally aspirated four-litre flat-six of road-going GT3 RS. The engine in the GT3 Cup has been modified to go with the flow of the stresses of continuous abuse in a race engine.

This latest version of Porsche's entry-level 911 race car made a noise on Thursday at the 2016 Paris auto show. Likewise, the super car was improved mostly by new aerodynamics at the front and rear sections.

As for the engine profile, it remains Porsche's familiar 4.0-liter flat-6. That is naturally aspirated to the tune of 478 horsepower. The standard transmission is a sequential unit with paddle shifters and the weight is an even 1,200 kilograms or approximately 2,645 pounds.

History to tell, Porsche launched the GT3 Cup program in the year 1998. This makes it the most-produced and most-sold GT racing car in the world. This time with 2017 Porsche 911 GT3, the car manufacturer still aims to repeat the said history once more.
