Car enthusiasts took a Subaru Legacy to its fullest potential as the vehicle was driven through an off-road terrain. Did the model put the Jeep franchise to shame with its surprising capabilities?
Trailblazers have been considered to be the optimal vehicles to drive through terrains and rough roads. However, car enthusiasts proved that the Subaru Legacy sedan is just as capable of the off-road features like the Jeep models.
As reported by Jalopnik, curious car enthusiasts took the Subaru Legacy sedan for a test drive - not on the road, but through a muddy terrain. Not as expected, the vehicle ran through the Revenge Trail in Moab and made it through thanks to its modified specs.
The trail seemed doable at first. However, as the Subaru Legacy went through the muddy surface, it climbed its way to a steep slick rock then into an oil-pan-killing-rocks which slowed the vehicle down. However, the model steered its way through the Cruise Moab scale unscathed. It was then concluded that the Subaru Legacy all-wheel drive feature has more to it than meets the eye. In fact, its traction and aid device were considered of high quality.
Improved Features
According to Cars, the 2017 Subaru Legacy model has additional specs by EyeSight which has improved safety features. The EyeSight Driver Assist Technology Package has a reverse automatic braking and automatic high beam lights - a feature that is usually seen with off-road vehicles.
The Specs
The Subaru Legacy is said to have a standard all-wheel drive that offers similar featured to that of luxury cars. In fact, the model boosts of roomy interiors and accident prevention technology, the feature that enabled it to make through the terrain. Its noise levels are, however, high on its four-cylinder models along with its engine and CVT components that also generate a loud noise.
Although the Subaru Legacy does not boost of its performance or high-end visuals, the all-wheel drive feature did prove itself to be as capable of surviving through rough terrains much like the Jeep models.
