Volkswagen Group's emissions news declines to stay covered, with Group firm Audi suspending the sale of its extravagance SUV Q5 in the wake of fizzling emissions tests led by the ARAI. 

The research, which was organized by Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), discovered higher than allowed emission levels of nitrogen oxide (NOx) amid the test of diesel models of the Q5. The organization has pulled back the models from dealerships the nation over. 

"We have investigated the concern regarding Audi Q5 and have identified the corrective measures. We have conducted testing of the solution in Q5 vehicles with ARAI," an Audi India representative said including that test comes about after remedial measures were seen to be well inside the appropriate standards. 

The Volkswagen Group is as yet recovering from the huge emissions cheat scandal a year ago. The scandal saw the renunciation of top administration faculty and a review of 3,23,700 lakh vehicles over its three brands, Audi, Skoda and Volkswagen, in India. This happened after an administration examination discovered diesel motors furnished with a gadget helping it cheat emission tests. 

All inclusive, the Group has reviewed an expected 11 million or more cars and may confront billions of dollars in liabilities.

This could be a major setback for the auto giant which foresees a great market in India. This also raises several questions towards the policies that it implements in its vehicles. 

This also raises warnings on the policies that auto manufacturers should implement while launching their vehicles in a market which is already crowded by indigenous manufacturers. Audi, with this setback, has clearly failed to realize the importance of standard ethics and is facing major rejection from several people.

Rishu Banerjee, an IT employee, says, "If I knew that the car I use is using a secret gadget to pass the emission test, I would abandon it completely. I do not want to harm the environment with my choices."
