General Motors shared information about what car enthusiasts can expect from its brand new 2017 GM Diesel trucks which will have more power and torque. Furthermore, the redesigned Chevrolet 2018 Equinox compact SUC, the Cruze, and that of the Colorado will also have updated features as well.

General Motors Sales

General Motors faced quite a low blow when they were compelled to withdraw the sale of some of their models due to Volkswagen's emissions-cheat scandal. To remedy the situation, the automobile maker had decided to introduce their brand new 2017 GM Diesel trucks to force sales up.

As reported by Just Auto, the General Motors diesel trucks will feature the redesigned Chevrolet 2018 Equinox compact SUV which will have two options for buyers: a 1.6-liter Open turbodiesel powertrain or a 1.5-liter and two-liter petrol motors. Along with the Chevy truck is the Cruze compact car and the Colorado small truck lines.

Updated Features

The redesigned 2018 Chevrolet Equinox had improved its styling. The updates were said to be similar to that of the Malibu, Colt, and Cruze models. It retained its projector-beam headlamps and installed LED daytime running lamps while the other up-level models would be featured with LED tail lights.

Interior Design

The interior design of the brand new GM diesel trucks has been incorporated with a 'down-and-away instrument panel' which is a do-over of the Chevrolet and Open design. It also has new 'kneeling' rear seat features and foldable bottom cushions which improved the automobile's easy-loading function.

In other news, Auto Blog reported that the brand new 2017 GM diesel trucks would be turbocharged with better power and torque. The recent powertrain ordering catalog revealed that the vehicles will have a 6.6-liter turbodiesel V8 engine which will power the Silverado and Sierra heavy-duty models.

The Specs

The GM diesel trucks would be able to generate 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque. In fact, this exceeds that of the Ford Super Duty line's horsepower by five but, compared to such, has less rating of torque.

GM diesel trucks were also reported to be the flagship models for the company's new intake system of 2017 heavy duty models. Sixty percent of its air would emanate from the scoop of the hood while the remaining 40% would come from behind one of the front fenders which will improve its power.
