Video Claims That Drilling Into iPhone 7 will Reveal Headphone Port, Fools Gullible Users

Since the release of the new iPhone 7, people have had varying reactions with the removal of the headphone jack and most was not in favor of it. A new video claiming to fix the problem by drilling a whole into the gadget went viral, and many were fooled.

The channel TechRax published the video on Youtube titled "Secret Hack To Get Headphone Jack on the iPhone 7." According to the description box, the video "is for those who don't want to get $159 wireless airpods or have to insert your headphones into an adapter every time you listen to music." It was obvious that the instructional was a prank, and viewers left humorous comments on the video's comments section.

Someone with a username Hilton Goodsir commented, "OMG These people are so dumb. They are using the incorrect drill bit. Apple are an American company, therefore they use Imperial instead of Metric. Which means the nearest equivalent is a 9/64. That should solve the problem."

Another troll with Dragos Xtc username said, "Warning, it only works on 128 and 256 gb iphones, my friend tried on his 32gb and he broke it, worked perfecty fine in my 128, seems apple didn't include it on 32 due to costs, in case you're wondering why it didn't work for some people."

The video currently has a total of 10,874,702 views. It has 142,055 likes and 89,588 dislikes as of this writing. It's not been confirmed whether the dislikes were from people who drilled holes into their iPhone 7.

The prank video was produced by Sacramento and the man behind it was Taras Maksimuk, California-based Ukrainian Youtuber. "Specialises in smashing technology for your pleasure," was written on his profile, according to The Guardian.

A 2013 prank tricked some users that updating the iOS 7 will make their iPhones waterproof, and in 2015 another prank convinced a few that microwaving iPhones will lengthen battery life.It seems that Maksimuk only wanted to join the hall of fame list of iPhone pranksters.
