Nissan GT-R Track Edition To Go On Sale In The UK For £91,995: Is It Worth It?

The new 2017 Nissan GT-R Track Edition is for those who'd like to have more thrills from racing their machines and fortunately for such folks, the new GT-R Track Edition is now on sale in Europe.

Prices start at €118,900 ($133,422) which makes the GT-R Track Edition considerably cheaper than the range-topping GT-R NISMO which is priced $174,990 in the United States. For comparison's sake, the 2017 GT-R range starts at £79,885 ($103,483) in the United Kingdom, Motor1 mentioned. Deliveries start this November itself.

Based on the model year 2017 GT-R unveiled earlier in the year at New York, the new Track Edition has a Bilstein Damptronic suspension and steering along with a few other components further enhanced by the Nismo team. A new anti-roll too has been added to add to body stiffness without compromising on kerb weight of the car.

Interior treatment varies according to the market it is going to sell in and comprises of black and red Recaro seats which will be standard in the UK and France. Similarly, those in Germany will be getting the carbon-backed Recaro seats, Carscoops reported. Then there is also the Track Edition badge made of carbon fiber attached to the dashboard along with carbon spoiler which will come as standard fitment.

The new Track Edition also rides on 20-inch aluminum wheels that are complemented by a wider front bumper. Power comes from a 3.8-liter V6 twin-turbocharged engine rated at 570 horses and 470 pound-feet of peak torque. Power gets transmitted to all four wheels via a twin clutch six-speed automatic gearbox system.

Nissan further stated each of the engines is assembled meticulously by hand by a specially trained technician or Takumi which in Japanese stands for 'master craftsman'.

For comparison's sake, the top of the line GT-R Nismo too is powered by the same 3.8-liter V6 but has a higher power rating of 600 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque.
