The updates about the upcoming Google Nexus 2016 phones are getting more and more popular on the web as the launch date draws near. Tech savvy readers might already know that Google will be dropping the Nexus nametag to the Sailfish and Marlin models, and will introduce Pixel and Pixel XL. 

Apart from the updates, several leaks are already luring the world wide web as well. Since the anticipator would highly appreciate images of the upcoming product, Venture Beat was able to get hold of the official Google Nexus 2016 or Pixel's official image.

The look of Sailfish or the standard Pixel model is simple. It appears that Google wants to keep the design as minimal as they can, but it does not mean that the specs and feature will not deliver.

According to the ongoing speculations, the Pixel will include a 5-inch 1080p display, quad-core 2.0GHz 64-bit processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 2770 mAh battery, a 12MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. Android Police added that the mobile device might contain a headphone jack, a fingerprint scanner on the rear and a USB-C port on the bottom. 

On the other hand, the Google Pixel XL or the Marlin will sport similar specs, except for a 5.5-inch QHD display and a 3450mAh battery. The website expects that the Google Pixel will start at $649 while the Pixel XL will cost a little more.

Google will pursue in making an improved line of smartphones in the future. Even CEO Sundar Pichai revealed their aim in a statement. "You'll see us hopefully add more features on top of Android on Nexus phones, there's a lot of software innovation to be had," he said. 

Meanwhile, The executive made it clear that the tech company will not create a phone from scratch. "Our plan is still to work with OEMs to make phones," The Verge quoted.
