The Ameo was VW's response to the thriving section level car segment. However, attributable to the expansion in the demand for petrol's, and the ever-increasing prices of it in India, the Ameo was to offer something other that the traditional petrol model. A diesel offering, however, is necessary to get the fancied numbers.

The car's powerhouse is to be the same - the 1.5-liter diesel that also powers the present models Polo and the Vento. In a country like India, where major cities boast of a high pollution rate, the move could be very well appreciated.

The Ameo, very much like its petrol variation, will be accessible in Highline, Trendline, and Comfortline trim to suit the decision of the purchaser. Transmission alternatives will be between a manual or the seven-speed DSG while elements are relied upon to stay like the petrol variation.
