It was devastating for the Jax Teller fans when the character died in "Sons of Anarchy" season seven finale. Despite the unfortunate event, spoilers for the "Sons of Anarchy" spinoff surfaced especially when series creator, Kurt Sutter, shared a Twitter post that said they are cooking up sweet surprises for the upcoming franchise.
Warning! Spoilers Ahead
It was revealed that Kurt Sutter is working on a "Sons of Anarchy" spinoff and prequel which was said to be more exciting than ever. As reported by Inquisitr, Sutter posted on Twitter a photo of the character Marcus Alvarez, played by Emilio Rivera, which was captioned, "Working hard on some sweet surprises."
With a new writer joining the production team, Elgin James was revealed to be crafting a story for the "Sons of Anarchy" spinoff wherein the Mayans Motorcycle Club would be the focus of the story, one of SAMCRO's largest competition in the franchise.
To make the "Sons of Anarchy" spinoff more credible and true-to-life, Sutter alleged that working with James would give the spinoff more character as he felt that he, being a white guy from Jersey, would not be able to solidify telling a story about Latin culture and felt that James' participation would expound the traditions of the storyline.
With that, fans have speculated that the spinoff and prequel of "Sons of Anarchy" may bring back the legendary Jax Teller back on screen. Although the character died in "Sons of Anarchy" season seven finale, the actor shared spoilers about what the fans of the franchise can expect for the coming months.
Prequel Spoilers
As reported by Game N Guide, Hunnam confirmed that there will be prequel for the series. However, fans would be heartbroken to know that the actor would not be participating in the upcoming installment of the series.
Hunnam suggested that the "Sons of Anarchy" prequel would talk about the original series' storyline revolving around the life of his character's father, John Teller. Since Jax could not have been born then, Hunnam clarified that he would not be participating on the upcoming prequel. However, the report suggested that there is still a possibility that Jax could be featured especially if the prequel would run for more than one season.
Filming for the "Sons of Anarchy" prequel was said to start production by 2017 while spinoff schedules are yet to be announced.
