2016 Audi TT RS Production Starts, Watch How This Powerful Hot Coupe Was Made

The production of the 2016 Audi TT RS has started at Audi's facility in Gyor, Hungary and soon enough, Audi fans can get their hands on this spec performance car. The new generation TT RS will be available this fall and will come in two variants - the Coupe priced at $82,000 and the Roadsters priced at $85,000.

How It's Made

To celebrate and promote the new Audi TT RS, Audi released a video on how the TT RS was being made at the two-million square-meter facility in Gyor. In the video, one can see that no expenses were spared to ensure that each model of the TT RS will be quality at its best.

The video surprisingly doesn't include flashy graphics and in your face elements like other car promotional videos, but rather a raw production shot that shows a combination or machines and expert craftsmen in building the TT RS. While machines do some of the harder work, like joining the powertrain and chassis, employees carry out tedious tasks such as polishing each TT RS before it leaves the factory.

As buyers, people would always want to see the final product only, and that the hard work that goes into manufacturing, producing and finishing the car is rarely appreciated. Audi TT RS production video is perfect in every sense. Check it out below.

2016 Audi TT RS Review

The 2016 Audi TT RS comes with a new engine 2.5 TFSI aluminum that yields 400 hp (60 more than its predecessor) and is 26 kilos lighter. It can accelerate from zero to 100 in 3.7 seconds (3.9 in the cabrio version), and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h. Its official consumption is a low 0.3l/100 km for the 8.2 and 8.3 liters Coupe and Roadster.

In the exterior section, the new TT RS is impressive as it incorporates elements its predecessor doesn't have. It has a single frame front grille with a new design of honeycomb. Its rear spoiler is also new, as well as the redesigned Audi logo. Another highlight of its design are the rear lights as it uses the Matrix OLED technology, which is used for the first time in an Audi model series. These headlights are characterized by emitting an extremely accurate and uniform light, which does not cast shadows or require any reflector.

The interior in the new Audi TT RS is full of sportiness and technology. It highlights the enormous 12.3 inch box digital instruments called virtual Audi dashboard, showing three different screens, including an RS specific giving data on tire pressure, torque, G forces and more. Other elements inside are the specific upholstery RS with diamond-shaped stitching and perforations in two colors. The new Audi TT RS has not forgotten the infotainment and comes with the system MMI navigation plus with MMI touch with Audi connect.
