Tesla Software Update Aims To Prevent Hot Car Deaths

Tesla (TSLA) outfits its super green cars with its Version 8.0 software, an operating system that automatically controls the car's temperature. Being aware about the distress of hot car deaths, it added up this new feature.

Fact! A triple high rate increase of 37 children has been recorded last year since 1998 of hot car deaths. Statistically, 54% of these cases are forgotten by their caretakers, 29% were due to children playing on an unattended vehicle, 17% were intentionally done and the remaining 1% was for an unknown reason.

Great and Safe with Version 8

Tesla's anti-heatstroke operating software works with its temperature control function which will automatically maintain the car's temperature to 105Ëš Fahrenheit -- 40Ëš centigrade and below. This control function can last for up to 12 hours in maximum right after a driver gets off the car.

Version 8.0, Tesla's control software, is already a built-in feature of Model S and its SUV, the Model X. A teaser reveals that in this software's upgrade, Tesla car drivers will be allowed to select the maximum and minimum temperatures depending on the current weather and location that they are on.

"My favorite new feature is the always-on max temp control for keeping kids and pets safe from overheating," tweeted Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

Tesla also announces that this upgrade is an "over the air" one, which means that the cars do not have to be taken to a dealer or a service center because the upgrade can be done even if the car is on its parked mode.

Unfortunately, before the release of this Tesla Model 3, it is already bombarded with some unwanted thoughts that the mass might be disappointed again. However, Tesla on and on still continues to manufacturer and prove that it can still hit a good market for its green cars. Aside from this new safety software for Tesla's super green cars, the company is opting another milestone in the operating system. This time, Tesla is on the goal of improving the Autopilot semi-autonomous driving system.
