2016 Mini Clubman John Cooper Works Version Revealed; Comes With 228hp And 4WD

The 2016 Mini Clubman John Cooper Works Version is finally revealed ahead of its debut at the Paris Motor Show next week and its release by the end of the year. As is tradition to all Mini to have a sporty JCW version, the Mini Clubman can achieve 228hp with an all new renovated four-cylinder engine and a four wheel drive.

Let us review what the new Mini Clubman JCW can offer us.

Practicality + Sportiness = Success

The Mini John Cooper Works Hardtop is the quickest, most powerful and sportiest Mini ever produced, the Mini Clubman, on the other hand, is the practical choice with four doors and a trunk. Combine them both and you'll get the newly revealed Mini Clubman JCW, a mini model that boasts practicality with its aesthetics and sportiness with its engine.

Let's start with aesthetics. The MINI John Cooper Works Clubman becomes one of the more practical versions of the iconic carever. Its size is now closer to a compact, like BMW 1 Series or the Audi A3, than a utilitarian car. MINI has tried to combine practicality with sporty details such as a lowered suspension, a sports grill, sporting skirts, more aggressive defenses, two outputs exhaust with generous chrome trim, rear diffuser, and so on. Finish this with the tailgate being replaced by double leaf doors which is absolutely awesome.

Among other improvements in the aesthetics of the MINI JCW Clubman is the 18 "wheels, and optional 19". You'll also enjoy the standard Performance Control with electronic adjustment of the shock absorbers as well as an exhaust system with valve opening.

228hp And 4WD Of Awesomeness

Now let 's get to the interesting part, the mechanics and performance. The MINI Clubman John Cooper Works will be equipped with a 4-cylinder engine and 2.0 liters for the JCW. The engine is equipped with MINI TwinPower Turbo technology, which delivers 228 hp. It will be available with two alternatives for a change, with box manual 6 speed standard, and optionally with Steptronic Sport 8 relation.

Fuel consumption with MT is 7.4 liters/100 kilometers (168 g / km of CO 2 ), while the AT is reduced to 6.8 liters/100 kilometers (154 g/km of CO2 ). As for its performance, an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h within just 6.3 seconds is announced by Mini.

Mini hasn't published pricing yet, but if the trend set by the Hardtop and Convertible continues, expect the Mini Clubman JCW to be at $35,500. We will have to wait until December to know.
