Bolt or Volt? Chevrolet's new models are confusing its fans, most especially South Koreans.

We do not know why the automaker decided to name the car models with similar sounding words like the Chevrolet Bolt EV and the Chevrolet Volt but we are here to ease the confusion of the enthusiasts.

Chevrolet released the latest model, the 238-mile Bolt EV recently. On the other hand, the dealership continues to offer the Volt plug-in hybrid to the public.

Although they carry different consonants on the first letter, there is not denying that the words sound almost the same. While Green Car reports that English speakers may easily determine the models, South Koreans are getting confused.

According to the website, they tend to pronounce and write Bolt and Volt in the same way. Koreans do not do "B" and "V" like the Spanish, and the Hangul written symbols for "Bolt" and "Volt" are similar.

But thanks to General Motors, because they created a solution to ease the uncertainty. The company added the term EV at the end of the Chevrolet Bolt.

In that way, South Koreans can easily determine whether the model is a Chevrolet Bolt EV or a Chevrolet Volt. It looks like the problem is solved.

However, it is still unclear whether the Bolt EV will be launched in South Korea. But it is most likely the next country to get hold of the model once Chevrolet release the new variant in the United States.

In other news, Fortune reported that the price for the new electric car is already announced. General Motors says the base price for its all-electric Chevrolet Bolt will be $37,495 when it goes on sale before the year ends.
