Honda, Acura Sales Shoot Up Over Last Year

American Honda, sold 124,808 across the US last month, an increase of 48.8 percent over June 2011.

The company's Honda Division accounted for 109,438 of the units sold, an increase of 45.6 percent over last June. Acura's sales of 15,370 units represented 76.5 percent increase over June 2011.

The Honda CR-V set a sixth-consecutive monthly sales record , selling 23,282 units in June. This is an increase of over 50 percent from June 2011

The Honda Accord sold more than 28,000 units, a jump of more than 80 percent from June 2011

Acura saw the best June sales since 2007.

The Acura RDX sold 3,090 units, an increase of 189.3 percent over last year. It was the best-selling compact luxury SUV in May, but came in second to the Cadillac SRX in June.

The Acura TL was up 47.1 percent over June 2011 sales, while the TSX was up 43.9 percent.
