Eid al-Adha is second to two Muslim holidays celebrated worldwide each year. This holiday is the sacrifice feast where Muslims sacrifice animals.
Every Muslim family celebrates and offers their sacrifices. And consumes it for a feast. Dhaka has a large community of Muslims, thus, this celebration would mean that a lot of people will have their livestock's sacrificed.
This year in Dhaka Bangladesh, the government assigned only several places in the city where they can slaughter their animals for the sacrifice.

The Eid al-Adha commemorates the test of faith of the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) when God asked him to sacrifice his own son. Just before he's about to do the sacrifice, the angel Jibra'il (Gabriel) intervened and informed him that his sacrifice had already been accepted. Instead of his son, the prophet offered a lamb.
The Muslims remember this through the livestock sacrifice, usually a cow, a sheep or a goat. The meat from the sacrifice is divided into 3 parts. One part is for the family, the second part for relatives of friends, and the third one for people who are in need.
