The Mini John Cooper and Fiesta ST200 are pretty much alike. Though not actually and completely the same, these two cars compensate for their differences. 

The John Cooper has more power and torque than the Fiesta ST200, the Ford happens to be the lighter car. These reasons are enough to test who performs better. There is no better way to do that but in a drag race.

The curiosities between this two cars were answered when Auto Express set a 1-mile drag race.

Everything was caught on the video, but first, let's review the capacities of this two cars.

The Mini JCW sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.3 seconds. With the optional a six-speed Steptronic automatic, the hot-hatch is even quicker, reaching 100 km/h from standstill in 6.1 seconds. The MINI also has 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque.

The Ford, on the other hand, has the torque of 290 (213 lb-ft), a six-speed manual, front-wheel drive. Runs at 0-63mph in 6.7 seconds with the top speed of 143mph.

Clearly, the Mini has more power and torque than the Ford Fiesta.

Now let's talk about the weight. 

The Fiesta ST200 weighs 1,163 kg (2,563 lbs) is clearly the lighter car when compared to the MINI JCW, which comes in at around 1,295 kg (2,854 lbs). Take that weight difference, add in the fact that there's only around 30 PS between them (in the MINI's favor), and you'd be right to think this drag race should be pretty close.

Clearly, even with the weight difference, the power of the Mini JCW beats the Ford Fiesta easily. But we also saw how fast the Ford can go, and with this speed, it is still a great car.

Not to mention that the Ford gives you that performance at a much cheaper price than the Mini.
