Watch Ken Block's Gymkhana 9 Badass Return in a Ford Focus RS RX [VIDEO]

Ken Block Gymkhana 9 is back - on the most badass way possible. Gimmick-free, minute storytelling, just plain smoking tires and lots of driving talent. The newly-released Gymkhana 9 video has an exceptional protagonist: Block's newly rallycrossed 600bhp, 660lb-ft Focus RS.

The car is the very same one he used to kick off competition in the World Rallycross. Its setup is also very realistic, as the video was filmed in an Industrial Playground in New York.

Without further ado, we give you the video now before the article. Because we're car lovers too, and we are raving about this.

Ford Focus RS RX on the Spotlight

A rallycrossed 600bhp, 660lb-ft Focus RS is the main star of the new Gymkhana 9 video. It will be the first time this car is out of the race track, tackling the crazy but awesome ideas of Ken Block. Unlike Gymkhana 7 and Gymkhana 8, which were recorded on the streets of Los Angeles and Dubai, the film this time around is set on an Industrial park in New York.

Ken Block had to release the Ford Focus RS RX on its way, skidding and burning rubber. Although it might not have been one of the most prepared Gymkhanas in terms of script and editing, the situation demanded it and the video looks more realistic than ever.

Going Back To Its Roots

Ken Block first graced us with his Gymkhana video series back in 2008. His rather natty skills at being an absolute and utter motoring hooligan was key to his success. However, his recent series showed spectacular sceneries and atmosphere, such as the 8th edition, which Block specifically produced for "Top Gear" in London. While the stunts were still awe-inspiring in the video, many fans thought that the 8th edition took away the essence of the series.

For his latest edition, Ken goes back to his roots by scrapping all the story telling and keeping it simple with scary awesome driving. This time, Ken Block has the help of GoPro cameras. The production was done with the cooperation of new video game Forza Motorsport 3, which helped convert an industrial area of Buffalo and Eden, New York to a massive automobile playground.

Moments to highlight are the jump above the train tracks and spinning tops made by the sea - a scene where production crews had to install an oxygen tank in the car, just in case Ken Block falls into the water.
