Mark Webber Grabs Victory at British Grand Prix

Mark Webber sped to victory, clinching his second Formula 1 win of the season at the British Grand Prix on Sunday. 

The 35 year-old Australian drove his Red Bull through 52 laps of complex tactical and strategic racing by overtaking the rest of the drivers to grab the checkered flag. His win also prevented Fernando Alonso nabbing his second consecutive win. Alonso finished in second. 

Webber won his first race of the season in in Monaco. Sunday's win was his second at Silverstone in three years.

"I won my first race here in '96 Formula Ford, so the love affair continues," Webber told The Telegraph. "This morning I took the dogs for a run. The good thing about going home with them is that they don't know if I've had a crap day or a good day, they're always happy to see me. It's good to be staying at home. I love racing everywhere but here it's extra special."

Webber's fellow teammate and defending world champion, Sebastian Vettel, had to be satisfied with third place.The British Grand Prix was witnessed by a whopping 120,000 spectators who had to bear the torrential rain for the last week.

Felippe Massa finished the race in fourth position, ahead of his former Ferrari teammate Kimi Raikkonen and his Lotus colleague Romain Grosjean.
