Subaru WRX STi Dominates 2016 Kumho Tyre Australian Rally Championship

Molly Taylor and Bill Hayes are getting the 2016 Subaru WRX STI rally car dialed in, race wise. The Subaru do Motorsport team have achieved their best result to date, with the WRX STI team making it to the podium again by completing round four of the 2016 Kumho Tyre Australian Rally Championship in second place.

2016 Subaru Doing Well on the Racing Level

Subaru Australia says the drive from Molly Taylor and Bill Hayes in South Australia this weekend was "impeccable." They began the season with their Group N Production Class Subaru WRX STI NR4 and have been gaining relentless ground all season and getting faster with every race.

This weekend, the duo backed up their second place from Heat One, finishing an incredible fourth place in Heat Two. the Subaru WRX STI is in second place and prepared to push for the title.

Molly Taylor as Subaru's First Female Rally Driver

The Lightforce Rally SA result puts them unequivocally in second place in the championship, and well within reach of the national title with only one round to go. Molly is Subaru's first female rally driver and she pushed the WRX STI hard over the rally stages.

"It's been just about the perfect weekend and the car has gone superbly. The shire roads were really dry today and conditions were quite slippery, but once again the car proved its capabilities." Molly said. 

The Last Stand

The last round of the Kumho Tire Australian Rally Championship will be held in Coffs Harbor, from November 17 to 20. Kennards Hire Rally Australia is also a round of the World Rally Championship, where Molly is eager to drive the 2016 Subaru WRX STI rally car.

"Rally Australia is the pinnacle event in the championship, and to be second in the series heading into the event gives the whole Subaru do Motorsport team a huge boost," she said.
