The 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback has been spied before in the UK and car aficionados went crazy. Now, as the Paris Motor Show draws near, Honda has joined the bandwagon of car teasers all around, releasing the official photos of the new Civic Hatchback said to be at the event, together with another surprise appearance, possibly the Honda Civic Type-R.
The official images of the new Honda Civic Hatchback have arrived just in time to tease us for the Paris Motor Show. Now we can finally discover the intricacies of the Japanese model.
It highlights the sporty looks of the vehicle, with an aggressive front mixed with a good combination of black and bright color. The style of the rear window is key to its design as it greatly improves the aesthetics, making the line flow more sports-like manner. Opticals and other designs are inherited from the previous 2016 model.
The Honda Civic Hatchback 2017 has the same mechanics of the Honda Civic Sedan 2016 and the Honda Civic Coupe 2016, which come with the new 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that develops 174 hp and 219 Nm of torque. Rumors state that the only change is that the hp can go up to 180. The hatchback will come in both manual or automatic variations, and buyers can choose between five available finishes: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L and Touring Sport
After making its debut at September’s Paris Motor Show, the new Honda Civic hatchback will go on sale around February 2017 for an estimated price of $20,000 to $30,000. It is expected to rival the likes of the Ford Focus, Volkswagen Golf, Mazda3, Toyota Auris and more.
Honda also announced that the 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback wouldn't be along at the Paris Motor Show. Honda has been hinting that the Honda Civic Type-R is nearing and various spy photos also seemed to point that this model was almost ready. Thus, despite Honda's announcement, there's a huge possibility that the Civic Type-R will finally be revealed at the event.
With the Honda Civic Type-R, the Japanese carmaker aims to be back on the hot hatch game in the United States. It will sport stylish headlights and a lowered body. Spy photos show a big opening in the lower bumper on the driver's side that suggests some kind of secondary cooling system.
More than the design, what sets the Honda Civic Type-R apart is its power, with rumors stating that it will have a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that can give as much as 350hp.
