The upcoming design for the Sailfish variant of Google Nexus 2016 has been leaked online, according to the latest report. The device, along with another model dubbed as Marlin might be out next month.
The HTC Nexus phones have been making a buzz on the Internet for quite a while. However, Android Headlines reported that this leak might be the last.
The new information gave the readers the idea of what to expect for the upcoming model. By looking at the photo shown on the website, the key design elements such as the USB Type-C port, the camera lens, power, and volume buttons are visible.
The Sailfish variant sports a black-colored exterior with curved edges. On the other hand, the outlet did not specify whether the model will have another color option.
Furthermore, the unofficial name for the Google Nexus 2016 phones is also revealed. According to the tech website, Sailfish might be called as Pixel while the Marlin could be Pixel XL.
Its key feature might include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor that comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD display, a 12 MP camera on the back with an 8 MP camera on the front, and 4 GB of RAM. More than that, it could also have a 32 GB of internal storage space and is powered by Android 7.0 Nougat.
The mobile device might also sport a 2770 mAh battery, with a design that comprises of metal and glass mix. On the other hand, Android Central reported that Google might drop the "Nexus" tagline and would focus on naming it on their behalf.
The tech company is said to pursue making an improved line of smartphones in the future. Even CEO Sundar Pichai revealed their aim in a statement.
"You'll see us hopefully add more features on top of Android on Nexus phones, there's a lot of software innovation to be had," he said.
The executive also made it clear that they will not create a phone from scratch. "Our plan is still to work with OEMs to make phones," The Verge quoted.
Google Nexus 2016 phones will be announced in the coming days, as anticipated by the fans. But the company is not confirming any of the details listed so stay tuned for more updates.
