The world is just excited for the upcoming release of Google's new flagship handsets. The official date for the smartphones' release has not been declared but eyes are all peeled for the word.
According to 9to5Google, "Sailfish" is the codename given to the Google Pixel. It will be a smaller version of the "Marlin" device, which rumors state will be dubbed as the Pixel XL. The two are said to be similar in the looks department, though the Sailfish will be smaller than the latter.
While the actual specifications of the device have not been revealed, rumors are high that the Pixel will feature a 5-inch screen while the Pixel XL will feature a 5.5-inch display.
The hardware is made mostly out of glass, including the surrounding surface around the camera and the fingerprint reader, with only the back sporting a metallic finish. What's most unique, however, is that Google is allegedly ditching Nexus logo for the new handsets and will just stick with a stylized "G" at the bottom, right above the antenna line.
We are uncertain, though, what the public will feel about the rumored return of the devices' stereo speakers. The first 3D image of the phone looked like a handset from HTC. Late renders also show two holes at the bottom of the device surrounding the handsets' USB-C port. This will be a part of the stereo setup, one of which will be used as the microphone.
Reports said that its dimension will be at 143.8 x 69.5 x 7.3 mm at the phone's thinnest point found at the bottom. Rumor has it that the Google Pixel will have a 2770mAh battery, 4GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 820 (or 821) SoC. There is also a headphone jack right on the top left corner.
Like all good tech cliff hangers, no final date was given for its launch, though, it is said that the final render for its appearance will be available by October 4. The design will either receive a yay or a nay from tech fans all over the internet.
