NBA Star Jeff Adrien To Face The Verdict For Driving A Mercedez From Valet That He Doesn't Own

First, let us recall ex-NBA star Jeff Adrien driving off for a joyride with a brand new black Mercedez which is totally awesome, but the car was not his.

This incident was reported and happened December last year, and just now the verdict is out and Adrien is being punished.

The 30-year-old former Minnesota Timberwolves player was staying in the West Holywood hotel when he took the wheels from a valet guy and went on for a drive.

Reports claim that the basketball player took it for a 6-hour joyride and then returning it to the hotel after.
The owner was then notified and the police were informed. The LAPD came and arrested Adrien and was sued with grand theft auto and was taken to jail. He was set out with the bail of $25K.

The owner was of course not happy with what happened also after learning that his Mercedez got damages after Adrien's joyride.

Jeff Adrien said that everything was just a misunderstanding between him and a friend who is supposed let him borrow a car, the valet guy, and the owner.

This is what he said during an interview with TMZ last December:

"I came out of the Hollywood hotel in a rush. My friend gave me his ticket and said use his car ... so when then valet pulled up in the ride I hopped in and left."

He said he was not aware what the car is so when the valet went out with the car, he jumped off immediately.

He insisted that it was a total mix-up. His lawyer also insisted that the charges were dropped and everything was clear.

Not until a few days ago that this almost one-year-ago issue was brought back and Jeff Adrien was actually not clear from this act. He had a plea deal with prosecutors, pleading no contest to misdemeanour unauthorized use of a vehicle.

The former NBA star is now to face 25 days of community service.
