iPhone 5 Release Date: Together with iPad Mini in October?

New rumor suggests that we may see both a new iPhone and the iPad Mini together this fall.

According to Bloomberg, “two people with the knowledge of the plans” said Apple may announce a smaller iPad, dubbed iPad Mini, in October. The report also said the iPad Mini will have 7 to 8 inches screen size and not have the Retina display that the new iPad has.

With new affordable small-sized tablets entering the market, the rumors of Apple creating smaller tablet had existed since last year. If the rumor holds true, we may see a smaller iPad and a larger iPhone before the end of this year.

iPhone 5, according to various rumors, will have a larger screen. It will no longer have the 3.5-inch screen that it had since the first generation and equip a 4.0-inch screen with 16:9 aspect ratio.

Although Apple has not announced the release date officially, people expect it to be launched around the same time iOS 6 is released, which Apple announced to be this fall. Judging by the fact that iPhone 4S was released in October, the same month in this year seems the most probably time to see a new iPhone, although some rumors suggest earlier launch date in September, or even August.

The new iPhone is said to put its competitor Samsung Galaxy S3 to “shame”.

Could we see a smaller iPad also this fall that puts Google Nexus 7 tablet and Amazon Kindle Fire into “shame”?

We shall find out soon.
