Thousands of cars have been stuck in the mud at Gwynedd's Festival No. 6 park and ride car park, with a number of vehicles needing to be towed out due to heavy rains last weekend.
Cars Stuck in Mud
The organizers of the said festival reported that a river burst its bank, worsening the problem and along with the heavy rain, it resulted in cars parked at the Festival to be under three inches of water. These vehicles couldn't leave the car park unless they were dragged out onto drier and firmer ground by another vehicle.
Some festival-goers were frustrated, claiming that they have waited for almost 6 to7 hours before the organizers took action and started calling tractors to tow their vehicles out. To diminish the pressure and the growing anger of some motorists, a leisure center in Porthmadog was offered for about 160 people to stay in overnight as their cars remained on site and as they waited for further instructions from festival organizers.
Tractors Pull Out Cars
There were around 8 tractors on site to assist motorists but with many festival goers still at the Portmeiron event, there were doubts that this number would be enough to deal with the vehicles expected to leave the site after the concert ends.
The festival's online statement said that they were expecting some delays at the park and ride site due to the adverse weather conditions over the weekend and they are doing everything to minimize the impact. The organizers also thanked everyone for their patience, cooperation and for being part of the incredible music festival.
Meanwhile, due to heavy rains and unexpected floods on many states, BBB warned of possibly a huge number of flood-damaged cars for sale. Thus, If you are on the lookout for a second-hand car, be careful of sneaky selling tricks.
