The Pokemon Go Buddy System, a new update for the popular Niantic Game Pokemon Go may probably happen soon as data miners found a leak to the upcoming feature. The new Buddy System will offer candy rewards for players who "truly" walk. Is this Pokemon Go's way of finally stop, if not decreased road accidents due to the game? It looks like it.
"Pokémon Go" data miners found the leak located on AeonLucid's PogoProtos Github. The github is typically used to monitor the traffic statistics of Pokemon Go but a string of codes suddenly appears that reveal how the mechanic work.
Apparently, the Pokemon Go Buddy System will be a reward system for those players who "walk" with their Pokemons and not ride. Players will be able to choose their Pokemons as their buddy and earn canny rewards depending on how many kilometers had been walked.
This update may be gear towards a Pokemon and human buddy experience but some automobile analysts view this as a way to decrease road accidents because of Pokemon Go.
Players of Pokemon Go are getting out of hand playing it even while driving, especially in Japan, the homeland of the Pokémon saga. There have been 79 road accidents since its released last July 22. The last two accidents were fatal and involved old people.
According to police Tokushima, the two women are quietly crossing the street while a driver of a mini van hit them because he was not paying attention to the road as he was playing Pokemon Go. The older woman, age 72 died on the spot because of a broken neck while the second one, age 69, luckily only suffered a hip fracture.
Another accident involves a woman in her 20's riding a bicycle when suddenly, a car who's driver is playing Pokemon Go hit her. The woman was rushed to the hospital but dies two weeks after the accident.
Niantic Inc., the developer of the popular game, expressed condolences to the families. However, it is time to consider a question: How long we will continue hearing such news? We only hope the new Pokemon Buddy System is the answer we've been waiting.
