Apple's Next Generation IPhone To Be Unveiled On September 7

Apple confirmed the date for its annual product launch. The company will hold the event on Wednesday, September 7 to unveil the next generation iPhone.

Apple maintains a tradition that holds signature events like this every September. CEO Tim Cook, for the last four years, has launched a new iPhone every September, with the exception of the iPhone SE that was launched late March of this year.

The Californian company sent out invitations to members of the press and is expected to showcase at least two new iPhones at the event; the rumored iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. The affair kicks off at 10: a.m. PT and will be held at the Bill Grahan Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. The said event could also be the release of the new models of the Apple watch.

IPhones 7 and 7 Plus are expected to have similar aesthetics (only with a color blue option) with the current models but will have more powerful cameras and with the 7 Plus possibly having a dual-lens camera.

Rumor has it that the new designs will sport a pressure-sensitive home button and comes without a headphone jack (special headphones that plug into the Lightning port is needed).

According to a leaked retail schedule, after the launch on September 7, the new products will be available on September 23 but they may be a week earlier, on September 16.

The retail price for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus is not yet clear and there are rumors that Apple will discontinue the less expensive 16GB model which could make the iPhone 32B variant the smallest (in terms of storage capacity) available.

In addition to the new releases, Tim Cook and his executives will also likely announce the release dates for iOS 10, tvOS 10, watchOS3 and macOS Sierra operating systems.
