Porsche has already introduced a brand new system called the "InnoDrive", which allows its newest model, the Panamera, to not steer the wheels or drive your car on your behalf, but rather, give you're the best and newest technological help for drivers.

The InnoDrive technology is made possible with the incorporation of both mapping data and Global Positioning System, together with in-car sensors, the necessary, real-time traffic data, and works by scanning as far as three kilometres ahead of the road you've driven your car on while keeping the Active Cruise mode activated, and also helps to adapt mechanisms for suspension and selecting of gears early on, in order for you to have the best, safest, and most comfortable driving experience.

The PID or the InnoDrive is also very capable of "reading" speed and warning signs which are commonplace in towns, thus enabling the speed of your car to be adjusted accordingly, therefore allowing you to drive in peace and without fear. In Australia, however, the car will not be getting any support from the Australian branch, as the concept would not be pursued in the said country for several reasons. 

One of these reasons, according to the spokesman of the car maker in Australia, the facilities of the country are deemed insufficient to support the InnoDrive, even if they think it's a great idea and would love the thought of using it. Data on the topography of Australian terrain, along with information systems for managing traffic, is not commonplace in the said country, unlike Europe, for example.

The people at Porsche Australia, however, are confident that they could work things out in the future together with other brands, and that while it is not likely to become a reality soon, they are not ruling the use of this technology in Australia out.
