Lamborghini Urus SUV Will Change The Whole Auto Industry

Together with the launch of Lamborghini's SUV in the market come 2019, is the doubling of the number of cars they manufacture on an annual basis, from 3,500 cars to 7,000, all while keeping their line of sports cars in the spotlight.Despite this growth, Domenicali has assured that their sports car production would still be capped at 3,500 annually.

Futhermore, the Lamborghini CEO is anticipating a high production rate for their line of future SUVs. These SUVs shall be out in the market 2 years from now, and its starting price is set at $200,000.

This is all in accordance with the company's new CEO's plan to expand their network of dealers around the world. Out of the current 132, 30% of these dealers and sales all take place in the US, making it the biggest market for their units.

In the previous year, more than 3,000 cars were sold around the world, with a third of all these transactions taking place in the states. This justifies Domenicali's statement that they are determined to keep on making their brand known for its ability to manufacture quality sports cars.

An additional 500 workers, plus a massive expansion of its facilities at the Sant'Agata Bolognese factory in Italy is now in the works, thanks to a hundred million euro investment announced a year ago.Lamborghini is not the first manufacturer for luxury cars to venture out into making SUVs, with Porsche previously doing so.

According to the current CEO, Domenicali, he wishes to keep the exclusivity of their brand. In a bid to expand their services, the Centenario Roadster in California was recently opened, and the 20 roadsters it has been building will be sold at a price of 2 million euros, sans tax.

Apart from the gas-powered SUV, Lamborghini is also planning to launch a hybrid version In 2020, along with one which has no emissions. The SUV is believed to be an early basis for driverless vehicles in the future, as vehicles like this won't affect the brand name in any way.
