In an effort to bring back Honda's reputation as a brand that exudes performance, the company has fused with Acura to make the unique cross-cultured hybrid sports car NSX. The making of the model was said to be a struggle as the engineers didn't see eye-to-eye most of the time and that the production of the car had to be done in the United States - a fact that did not sit well with Honda.

The hybrid American-Japanese vehicle development project was said to be a rare development when it came to Japanese automobile since most of their products were usually created in Japan alone. However, for the Honda-Acura NSX, it had been the first time that the parts were taken from Japan before they were to be shipped to the US for manufacturing, and shipped back to Japan for selling, reported Auto News.

The Specs

The Honda-Acura NSX is powered by a 573-hp electric-gasoline. It has three electric motors to a 3.5 L, twin-turbocharged, V-6 gasoline engine which is nearly similar to that of a Ferrari's. In fact, the model has been called as the "Asian Ferrari."

Furthermore, Fortune reported that it is embodied by aluminum and whose space frame is made up of such as well. It has ultra-light strength steel, made of lightweight materials to make the unit as light as possible, and has a new zirconium body-coating process that welded the body in white without the side effects of a byproduct. Therefore, the Honda-Acura NSX exudes of technological advancements.

 Price and Availability

The NSX base price is at a $157,800 or 2.7 million yen in minimum which is inclusive of shipping. However, additional features and specs that vary from dealership to dealership could increase the cost to a maximum $200,000.

The Honda-Acura NSX had been made available at Japan since Thursday. It is likewise sold by Honda in Japan and Europe. However, when sold in Canada, the US, and China, among other places, the product would be under Acura.
