Chevrolet Camaro Celebrates its 50th Birthday [VIDEO]

The Chevrolet Camaro will be celebrating its 50th Birthday on September, with that Chevrolet decided to throw a special celebration at Woodward Dream Cruise last Saturday for the iconic cars big five-o and showcased the very first camaro - Chevrolet Camaro No. 100001 enclosed in a glass case. 

The celebration started with a plant tour where General Motors opened up the Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant for all people to see where the current Chevrolet Camaros are being manufactured. It was then followed by a parade of the Camaros starting at the Renaissance Center. 

"The celebration went great. We had probably 200 cars at the parade. " Todd Christensen, Camaro marketing manager said.

He also added that he was surprised by how many generations of Camaro went out to celebrate with them and join the parade. This is because most of the times, the owners who have the older car makes never bring them out as they are just too precious.

Chevrolet Camaro's celebration is expected to end with a band as the brand plans to introduce in the market a 50th anniversary version of the Camaro by the end of September where buyers can choose from coupe or convertible version. The limited edition car will certainly be a muscle car to be envy as it will be equipped with distinctive details of the 50th anniversary both inside and outside of the body.

The 50th anniversary Camaro will carry a metallic gray tone paint and orange stripes that will make it stand out from the rest. A 20-inch wheels will be incorporated with marks of the 50th anniversary, brake calipers in orange. Inside are leather seats with suede, in addition to the instrument panel and door panels feature LED lighting.

The emblem with the name of the model, which is usually between the door and the wheel arch, is replaced by the word "Fifty" (fifty in English) on both sides and also incorporated in the tailgate but as an adhesive. It also has a somewhat more radical spoiler and front bumper with slight changes and chrome accents.

The price is not yet known, nor whether it will come to other markets outside the US territory. In the meantime, watch the video below to go beyond the seen of the celebration.
