"Mini Darth Vader" Recovering Nicely After Successful Heart Surgery

The 7-year-old actor who played the popular pint-sized Darth Vader in the Volkswagen 2011 Super Bowl commercial is out of the hospital after an intensive open-heart surgery.

"Max Page was released on Monday, four days after his pulmonary valve was replaced with a two-houroperation. Max headed home with his parents and younger brother," said a spokesman from Children's Hospital Los Angeles to the Associated Press.

Page, who also plays Reed on the CBS soap opera "The Young and the Restless." was born with a congenital heart defect and has had to undergo multiple open heart surgeries.

"He rallied quickly after last week's operation, giving thumbs up the next day and saying 'I am happy' the day after that," said Page's mother, Jennifer, while speaking to the AP.

"The valve used for Max will last about 15 years and won't require invasive surgery to replace it," said a hospital spokesperson.
