A Florida man, who works as an Uber driver, was arrested on Thursday by the Boynton Beach Police for allegedly sexually assaulting three women in the last year.
Xolani Mtsitsha, 36, allegedly raped the three women on three separate occasions in the same deserted industrialized area between January and July. The Florida man was caught after one of the victims was able to obtain his license plate. He is currently detained under a bail worth $150,000.
The Florida man has claimed that two of the three women had asked for a free ride in exchange for having sex with him while the third woman did not want to have sex because he didn't have a condom at the time, to which the man took offense and proceeded to rape her, according to Jezebel.
Meanwhile, a police report reveals that Mtsitsha had raped another woman after he had offered her a ride to a homeless shelter located in Clint Moore Road in Boca Raton where she was headed. However, he took her instead to the said deserted industrialized area where he took his other victims.
The woman started to feel scared and felt imminent danger was fast approaching. The Florida man went on to rape her with her head facing down before driving her to Clinton Moore Road and dropped her off. The woman told police that the man kept telling her: "You're making me mad, you don't want to get me mad," according to the Sun Sentinel.
Mtsitsha started working for Uber in February, a month after the first reported sexual assault took place. The second and third sexual assaults happened during his employment with the driving company, but not his working hours, said a spokesperson from Uber, according to the Washington Post.
The spokesperson adds that the company checks on applicants' criminal history before they hire them, and has confirmed that Mtsitsha has been banned from the app.
